Some staff came across as quite arrogant and obnoxious, which was especially disappointing because that isn't how Spanish people usually are. That added to an overall experience that fell well short of what I expect from a true five-star place. We've stayed at several other five-star properties in Barcelona on earlier trips, and they gave us a better stay. Would I come back here? No, it just wasn't “The One” for me. We arrived midweek and got an accessible room. I understand those rooms are needed, but at nearly two meters tall, I didn't benefit from the lowered sink or shower seat. Standard rooms were supposedly available, so it was an odd assignment. The rooftop pool setup also needs attention. In the summer heat, getting an umbrella opened before midday seemed impossible because the staff only started on the rooftop then. That kind of rigidity feels unnecessary at a luxury hotel. I know hotels don't have to offer late check-out, but at these rates, some flexibility is part of the service. Housekeeping took around 30 minutes on average to turn a room, yet the most they could give us was 15 extra minutes. It felt like following policy instead of showing hospitality.

The breakfast was decent, but a bit repetitive and with fewer options than at some other five-star hotels in the city. There's room to improve the variety. We had a pleasant stay at The One Barcelona in Jun 2026. The room was elegant, clean, comfortable, and well maintained, with a modern design that still felt warm. I also appreciated being able to open the window and let in some air. The location is a real highlight, about a two-minute walk to Casa Milà and roughly five minutes to Passeig de Gràcia, with luxury shops such as Louis Vuitton, Chanel, and Tiffany & Co.

Housekeeping came twice a day and was quick and efficient, while the concierge and other staff were incredibly helpful. Breakfast had a fantastic range of food and drinks, and the rooftop restaurant was amazing, with a great selection of Western and Asian dishes. The rooms were clean and modern, and the whole hotel felt so elegant! ✨🍽️

The rooftop bar didn't do much for me, and I preferred people-watching in the lobby. The house cocktail list wasn't great either, though Spain isn't really known for its cocktails. We stayed at the Almanac on our last trip and The One this time. I think I slightly prefer the Almanac, but it was quite a bit more expensive for our dates. We weren't disappointed here and would definitely come back. Breakfast is light compared with an American breakfast, but I still dream about the pan con tomate piled high with jamon iberico. The towels were plush, the nicest I've seen in Europe, so it looks like the hotel may have responded to the complaint I saw on Google. Seems like everyone there is staying through Amex FHR.

The restaurant food was okay, and the service there was friendly and good. The location was decent for shops and cafes, but the concierge was hit or miss. They sent us to the wrong place after we showed them the address for one of our tours, so we had to pay for a cab to reach the right location on time. We booked two rooms for our first visit to Spain. They were far too small, and the amenities felt limited for the price of a five-star hotel. I'd probably stay somewhere else next time.
