The Wood House Barcelona

The apartment was dusty enough that I spent the week waking with my eyes swollen shut from allergies. The pillows seemed overdue for cleaning too, and my symptoms got worse, with so much mucus that I was constantly looking for a bag or spitting on the street. It's awful to have the place where you sleep cause that kind of reaction. The photo here shows how much dust I swept up. Disgusting. Parking was another problem. No parking is available, and nobody made that clear before I arrived late at night. I drove around for an hour, then found paid parking and accidentally left the car there for 24 hours without realizing it cost 3 euros an hour. For what I paid, the service didn't match the price. The listing photos make the apartment look bigger than it is because of the exaggerated angles. There's no dryer, the bathroom is so cramped my knees touch the wall when I'm on the toilet, and the balcony isn't really a full balcony, since some kind of AC unit takes up floor space. The loft ladder feels like it's about to give way unless you climb it very carefully, which isn't practical for a place used by different guests. It also looks like part of it broke off and was never replaced. The front door has no gasket, so it bangs loudly against the frame and echoes through the building. That makes it hard to avoid disturbing the neighbors, especially at night. The whole stay wasn't worth the cost. I hope this helps someone find a place that takes care of its guests and doesn't leave linens, pillows, or couches full of years of dust and allergens.
