Camping Raco

We love staying here, but this may have been our last visit. For our two-week fix in Beni, it worked out expensive: €28.50 per day for the pitch, €3 a day for our tiny dog, and electricity on top. The shop has gone, so there’s no gas on site. You have to go to the caravan supply place across the road or the repsol garage, which is inconvenient given the age group here. Facilities were all good. After the recent storms, some of the big trees still need cutting back.

Overall, it’s a good site with easy access to Benidorm. The access roads are a bit tight if you have a larger outfit, and my pitch was small but adequate. I should have chosen a bigger one. One services block is a little dated, though the others are excellent. I gather the site is improving steadily.

As an American travelling through Europe, I’d give this place ten stars if I could. The staff are amazing: attentive, professional, and always smiling, which made our stay much more enjoyable. The maintenance team was fantastic too. The grounds are well kept, and the bathrooms and showers are very clean. There’s hot water with no restrictions. I think it’s the best location in Benidorm. You might find somewhere technically closer to the beach, but those places are up the hill. This one is on the main street leading down to the beach, about a mile away, and far enough from the Benidorm bustle to be peaceful. The other guests I met were wonderful and had a great attitude. I never felt uncomfortable around the people who stay there year-round. Just a wonderful experience, highly recommended!

It’s a peaceful place, and the beach is about a 15-minute walk away. Shops, restaurants, and bars are also within walking distance. Aldi is next door, with restaurants along the main road. The site is clean and well maintained, with good hot showers that don’t run on push buttons. Entry is easy and secure through the front office and security bars. The restaurant closes at 4pm, while the bar stays open. There’s also a great little shop two minutes from the front office, selling fresh fruit and vegetables and all sorts.
