La Casa del Consul

The apartments are beautifully furnished, and the setting on a quiet square just outside the center is perfect, only a ten minute walk away. Vittore and Eric made wonderful hosts. As others have said, staying here feels more like being at home than in a hotel. Can't recommend it enough.

We stayed in an apartment rather than a regular room, and it was bright, spacious, and a lovely place to relax after exploring Cadiz. The bed was super comfortable, and the AC and fans kept us cool despite how hot it was outside. The apartment and the rest of the house are beautifully appointed, and the whole stay felt luxurious. It's in a lovely part of the old town, handy for strolling into town, sightseeing, or going out for a meal. Eric and Vittore gave us lots of useful recommendations for places to eat and see, then left us to do our own thing. When we had a question, they were around with advice. You can reach out if you need them, while the place still feels like your own home. Perfect.

Eric and Vittore were wonderful hosts. They took time to make sure everything went smoothly, explain the renovation and their life in Cádiz, and share stories over wine on the lovely rooftop terrace filled with plants. We only had two nights at La Casa del Consul, but had a wonderful stay. The property is beautifully equipped, and the thought put into every design detail is clear. We'll be back.

We were back in Cádiz for our fifth visit since 2017 and spent two peaceful, relaxing weeks at La Casa del Consul. It may have been our best stay yet. Plaza de España is quiet, but the center and its bustle are only minutes away on foot, and La Caleta is around a 20 minute walk. The house and apartments are stylish and tastefully furnished. We especially loved the leafy rooftop terrace and its pool for cooling off and relaxing. Even when temperatures climbed to 36°C, the building stayed pleasantly cool during the day. The ceiling fans were enough, and we only switched on the air conditioning at night. Eric and Vittore were friendly, accommodating, and easy to reach when we needed them. They also gave us great restaurant tips, but otherwise kept a low profile, so it felt as though we really lived in Cádiz. This stay reminded us again why we love the city. We'll stay with them again when we return.
