Bonanza Park Hotel by Olivia Hotels Collection

Four days before my flight, Bonanza Park Hotel cancelled my reservation, leaving me stranded, after it had already charged the full amount for my Booking.com booking. When I got in touch, they wouldn't honor the reservation and blamed Booking.com. I had to find somewhere else at the last minute, at a much higher cost. Keeping payment without providing the booked service feels like unjust enrichment and is totally illegal. I wouldn't trust this hotel with a card or holiday plans. They're taking my case to the European Consumer Centre, and I'm pursuing legal action.

The gardens and area around the hotel were beautiful, and the staff stayed kind and polite throughout. Sadly, the inside didn't match the setting at all. There was a damp smell in our room, which got worse when we switched on the air conditioning and became moldy. We found oriental cockroaches and other insects in the bathroom, spider webs near the TV and elsewhere, and a half-empty bottle in the minibar. The place looked dirty and run-down. I took photos of the room and shared spaces, including the carpet by reception. The pillows were so thin and soft that sleeping comfortably was difficult. We told reception about the problems in the morning, but we were only staying two nights, so nothing improved. We had booked for my birthday and hoped for much better. I'm just glad the stay was short. The hotel looks nice in photos, but I was disappointed and won't return.

The sheets weren't clean and left my whole body itchy, and there was even a spot of blood on the pillowcase. Breakfast was nice, and the hotel is close to the beach. There's private parking too, though it costs €16 a day.

Jordi at reception pointed us to an amazing restaurant, thanks again! We had a spacious room with a full sea view, and the hotel has a lovely garden and pools. There are also plenty of nice restaurants nearby. We chose breakfast only, and it was excellent, with lots of tasty options. I booked through the hotel's official website and paid in advance, so on arrival we only had to pay the tourist tax. There is free parking on the street behind the hotel. I'd highly recommend staying here, and we'd choose it again if we come back.
