Don Carlos

Good value, and we'd happily come back. The hotel was really clean, with fresh towels and a room clean every day. We also liked the pool and gym. There's a lovely terrace with a view, and the main street and beach are only a couple of minutes on foot. Palma is about a 20-25 minute drive away.

The place itself was beautiful, the staff were friendly, and I liked the lively community and the area's natural scenery. But the last night left us with a bad impression. My partner and I woke during the night with bites. We'd noticed one or two a few days earlier and assumed mosquitoes, so we brought repellent. By the final night, it seemed there was something in the bedding. We stayed awake through the morning and were too drained to bring it up at checkout. Once home, we washed all our belongings in case we'd brought pests with us. Later, I checked Booking.com reviews and found other guests describing similar problems. The hotel's responses seemed to brush those complaints aside, or even get defensive and make light of them. When several people say they woke up with bites after sleeping in the beds, hosts should respond professionally. It was disappointing for our trip to end this way.

I felt really looked after here, and as a woman traveling alone I felt completely safe. The hostal has charming, interesting decor and feels quite unique among the village's many resorts. I had a very good stay. :)
