We found the owners polite and very attentive, so it’s odd to read reviews saying otherwise. The village is quiet, the views are excellent, and having the pool in summer is a real bonus, especially with teenagers. The apartment was a good choice for four of us. The rooms were spacious enough, and we had a private terrace on the second floor. The kitchen gear was a little basic, which could be limiting if you’re staying several days and cooking a lot. The village lanes are narrow, too, so passing another car can be tricky if you’re in a large vehicle. It’s not one of the area’s best apartments, but I’d still recommend it.

We had a fantastic stay at Casa Tradelga Dr Turieno. The owner or manager was always smiling and went out of their way to make things easy for us. The apartments are simple but have what you need, and ours had two bedrooms. The fridge is small, though that wasn’t a problem for a short stay. We woke up to fantastic views each morning, and spent time enjoying the pool and its surroundings. The apartments offer excellent value for money. If we vacation in the area again, we’d happily return.

The setting is beautiful, quiet and green, right beside the Picos de Europa. The pool and scenery were a plus, but the apartment itself was a dump. The photos didn’t match the apartment we were given, and it wasn’t even where the listing said it was. Getting to the door means climbing stone steps and then a spiral wooden staircase, which is completely impractical if you have mobility issues. That inconvenience wasn’t mentioned anywhere. Inside, the wooden floor creaked like it might crack, and the fridge was tiny. With four of us, fitting everything in felt like a game of Tetris. The shower was already broken when we arrived. Worse, the water came out scalding hot and couldn’t be adjusted, as previous reviews had mentioned, making a shower an ordeal. The kitchen utensils were extremely limited and scarce, so bring your own knives and potato peeler. I’d read someone’s comment about feeling like they were on Big Brother, and I can confirm it. Whenever you needed to check on the landlord, he’d be there one way or another, always showing up. That’s VERY BAD. My advice to him is to put as much effort into maintaining the apartments and updating the photos to show their real condition as he puts into tending the plants and grass all day.

We spent a week at Tradelga this August, and it was a fantastic experience. It’s a quiet area with a great location, and the pool is perfect for cooling off. The apartments are simple but have everything you need, and the views are exceptional. The owner, who lives there, was super friendly and attentive, ready to sort out any issues and tell us what to do in the area. If we return to Cantabria, we’ll definitely come back!
