Hotel & Spa S'entrador Playa

The location is a big plus: Cala Agulla is a beautiful beach, about a 5-minute walk away, and there are plenty of nice places to eat within 7 minutes. The staff are very nice and polite, and the spa opens at 8 am, though the sauna doesn't open until 3 pm. We had some real frustrations with the room. The safe is locked unless you pay €3 a day for a key, and it won't fit larger things like an iPad or laptop. The minibar was always locked when we tried it, and we ended up buying drinks outside to have in the room. Reception said staff open it in the morning and lock it at night. I think that's a terrible system, and I don't want people coming into the room more than necessary. I never once found it open when I went to get a can of mineral drink. We stayed for a week. By the third day, I noticed the sheets hadn't been changed, so I asked at reception and was told they change them weekly unless you request it. To be fair, they changed them the next day after I asked. My issue is that this wasn't explained, and when you're at a seafront hotel and going to the beach almost every day, you'd expect more frequent changes for the price. The floors were always sandy and didn't seem to get cleaned properly. When I asked about the sheets, the room got a proper clean, but that shouldn't be necessary at a hotel. From what I noticed, they don't use hoovers on the floors. The sound insulation wasn't very good either. We were woken at 6 am by noise several times during the week. I don't go on holiday wanting to chase up things like the safe key or ask for basic tasks to be done. It takes energy out of your day. I don't understand a lot of management's decisions, so keep that in mind if you expect things to be handled without asking. It's very expensive for what you get. In hindsight, you're mainly paying for the location near a very nice beach. I'd recommend staying somewhere else if you can.
