La Espiga

The surroundings are beautiful, but the house needs serious maintenance before it can offer a comfortable stay. We found old-looking damp patches, poor cleanliness, and a general lack of upkeep. The wiring also seemed to be in poor condition, or at least in need of a thorough safety and functionality check. The heating wasn't adequate for cold weather: there were two electric radiators in the bedrooms and one pellet stove for the rest of the house, leaving the kitchen and bathrooms cold. The breakers tripped several times even though we followed the owner's advice not to use the oven while the radiators were on. Once, they went while we were just playing cards with only the radiators running. Each outage shut off the pellet stove, so we had to wait for it to warm up again. The owner's suggestion meant choosing between cooking and having heat. When we raised these problems, he said his reviews were good and our case was unusual, but offered no real fix, just a free weekend in spring. This house isn't equipped for winter. The owner later accused us of causing the electrical issue. We didn't. We reported the supply problem during our stay and did not interfere with or damage the installation. That's the owner's responsibility. We regret his reaction, but our description is what happened.

Salva was a very friendly, attentive host. The place is peaceful and has good transport links, while being away from the bustle. It's a fantastic place to stay, about 15 minutes from Ávila. Highly recommended!

The village is close to Ávila city, which made sightseeing easy. The owner was very friendly and answered our questions. We had a wonderful family weekend in a fantastic house that was clean and well furnished. We'd definitely rent it again, and highly recommend it for families.

Salvador was friendly and attentive, and the house had everything we needed to feel comfortable. It's in a small, quiet village, away from noise, with excellent views. We'll definitely come back.
