I’d give this place minus five stars if I could. The space under the wooden roof is called a second floor, but the highest point is only about 1.7 m. Unless you’re no taller than 1 m and are used to walking on your knees, avoid staying here. It seems fit only for pigeons.

The apartments are small and sit outside Cuenca’s historic center, though it’s not a long way away. There’s one bedroom plus a double sofa bed in the living room, along with a kitchen and air conditioning. It was clean and good value, but some fittings feel low quality. The laminate floor, sofa bed, and lighting could all use an update.

We could hear everything from the neighboring apartments, even the person next door snoring. The walls are paper thin, and the ground-floor curtains were so sheer that passersby could see inside. The damp was bad on the floor and walls, and there were cobwebs in the shower and living room. The shower is tiny and leaks all over; there’s no towel rail, and the sink drains poorly. The kitchen barely deserves the name, with appliances and dishes in terrible shape. I’d never repeat this stay, and wouldn’t recommend it.

I liked the apartment, though the walls and lighting need to be checked.
