I wouldn’t recommend this place. I spent a month in Cuenca for work and stayed at "El Rincón de Malu" at Calle de la Moneda 30. The whole experience was awful, and the service felt very unprofessional. The house slopes quite a bit, which made sleeping especially uncomfortable, and the tobacco smell was so strong it took weeks to clear. The contract was a mess of scribbles: they reused the previous tenant’s contract, crossing out that person’s details and writing mine in. On my first day, they hurried me to arrive, then unexpectedly changed the time for collecting the keys, even though they knew I was driving a long way. The day after I moved in, I reported that the washing machine didn’t work and the toilet kept running. I had to keep chasing her for two weeks before she came to look, and she still didn’t fix the washing machine. I spent the whole month without one, while she kept suggesting it had been working before I arrived. On my last day, I waited two hours for the keys, with her changing her story and making excuses. This was in March and April, and as of July she still hadn’t returned my deposit, coming up with nonsensical excuses to avoid paying the balance. The service was appalling, and I wouldn’t recommend her. Also, only at the last minute does she tell you payment has to be in cash, with no receipt.
