Hotel Myro

The little daily extras were a lovely touch: fresh fruit, cake, tea, and cold water in the fridge on hot days. Our room was cleaned thoroughly every day, and the staff made us feel welcome from the start. Hotel Myro is right in the old town, close to lots of local places to eat that the hotel recommended. We had such a nice stay that we'll be back and consider it our usual place in Gijón.

We were cycle touring and appreciated having a safe spot for our bikes in the lobby. The hotel had messaged us about it before arrival, and it worked out well. Check-in was online, with a code for the building and room keys, and the process went smoothly. There’s also a shared lounge with sofas, tea, coffee, and a fridge. We only stayed one night and wished we could have stayed longer. The room was roomy, the bathroom modern and clean, and the bed comfortable. It was quiet inside, and the old-looking building has been fully renovated into a clean, practical place. The location in the old town center is great, and the high rating feels deserved.

Andrés was so kind and made me feel at home. The price was excellent, too.

The room and bathroom both felt new, and the spacious bed and pillows were comfortable. Downstairs, guests can help themselves to tea and coffee. I found the air freshener in the shared areas much too strong, though the hotel itself is in a fairly quiet spot despite being near late-night bars. It’s a well-designed, relatively new hotel right in the Old Town. The staff were great and helped me with parking in the adjoining secure underground car park, which cost 10€. It’s a strong base for seeing the best parts of friendly, safe Gijón, with excellent value for the price. A good choice for a discerning pilgrim, too.
