Luxury Alhambra Penthouse Collection

The apartment looked beautiful, had an amazing view, and was close to pretty much everything. The woman at reception was incredibly friendly and helpful. Still, our first good impression gave way to a lot of disappointment. We’d paid almost twice as much for four people, but the place seemed set up for just two. The sofa hadn’t been made into a bed, and it took three requests before it was prepared that evening. There were only two towels, wine glasses, and cups, and far too few dishes in general. We had nowhere to hang the towels, and the shower had no soap holders. The drain barely worked. The balcony furniture was old and smelled bad. A kitchen cabinet above the fridge nearly fell on our heads, and despite being promised a repair, it was still loose when we left. These problems could have been avoided, and we hope this leads to quick improvements.

Inside, the apartment was comfortable and nicely presented. Finding it was a nightmare because there was no sign by the entrance door. Then getting the air conditioning to work became another ordeal. I was so frustrated that I was ready to give up my prepayment for three nights and look for another hotel.

We didn’t enjoy our two nights here. The apartment didn’t look like the pictures, and the bathrooms were poorly arranged, with broken glass behind the toilet. The bedroom outlets also left no room to plug in an adaptor. A terrible drain smell in one bedroom made us move to the other, but that one was extremely noisy because it was right beside construction. One of the beds had chunks of hair on it, which made me wonder if the sheets had been changed properly. When we arrived, the door was wide open and the floors were soaking wet, presumably from the cleaners. I found it strange that the apartment had been left unlocked.

Bars and restaurants are all around, and it’s about a 25-minute walk to the Alhambra. The apartment felt brand new, had everything we needed, and made a perfect base for exploring Granada. A fantastic stay.
