Madrigal Iruela

The staff were excellent, friendly, and helpful, but the rooms are small. Pets are allowed, yet there’s nowhere to sit outside the restaurant with a dog. We were told to leave ours in the room, so I can’t recommend the hotel.

Hotel Sierra is in a lovely spot. We were there as part of a coach tour around the Cazorla area. A lot of our group sent their dinner back uneaten during the first two nights, though the food improved on the last night and was enjoyed.

It’s a large hotel that somehow feels small, about five minutes by car up the mountain from Cazorla. The views are incredible, and the rooms are good, with terraces to enjoy them from. There’s a nice pool area and plenty of free parking. Check-in was efficient, the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the Wi-Fi was free. Breakfast was good, especially the hot omelettes cooked fresh to order.

The views over the olive fields are fantastic, and the surroundings are great for hiking. Service was kind and polite, cleanliness was decent, and the price felt fair for what you get. Breakfast had a good range, and I was surprised how fast the internet was, especially in high season when other hotels can have laggy connections. I think this is the best place in town, and I’m pretty sure there’s no better option nearby. I’d come back if I get the chance.
