Eurostars Monumento Monasterio de San Clodio Hotel

There’s plenty of room to park, and the grounds and pool are lovely. We walked from the hotel to Mein winery and Adegas Valdavia S.L.. The rooms were spacious and clean, breakfast was wonderful, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We also had a good dinner at the restaurant. Incredible hotel.

The food was remarkable, and dinner at the restaurant was a fabulous experience. We ordered the squid with caramelized, bean soup, baby Lamb, Bacalao, and the Uva dessert. We stayed one night during our honeymoon trip, and they upgraded our king-size room to a suite and gave us a bottle of champagne to celebrate. The room was clean and had everything we needed.

The main drawback is that it closes for long stretches in the low season. Otherwise, there’s plenty to enjoy nearby: beautiful walks, the wine area of D.O.Ribeiro, and Ribadavia, which is worth a visit. The hotel itself is in a spectacular 12th century Cistercian Monastery, with cloisters and gardens to wander around, plus an excellent restaurant. In summer, it’s better to reserve a table there if you’re not staying at the hotel.

There’s no bar or cafe, and the restaurant only starts serving at 9:00 PM. Other than what’s in the mini bar, don’t expect to find food or drinks, so plan when you arrive to avoid disappointment. Definitely not what I expected from a 4 start hotel.
