Villa Asturias

The villa's condition is a mess. The plumbing leaks, cracks are everywhere, door frames seem to be held together by magic, and the pool is slanted with extremely slippery tiles around it. Those are just the biggest problems. The house is in a housing estate, and neighbors call the police over the slightest noise, which we could accept since they have a right to peace and quiet. The owner seems friendly at first, but I wouldn't trust him. Other guests' comments make it sound like burglaries at the villa have happened repeatedly. I can't say whether the owner is involved. During our stay with 15 friends, the villa next door was burgled. It belongs to the same owner, who hasn't taken any action about these thefts. He also asks for part of the rental price in cash, which is very odd. The low price might be tempting, but it's a real gamble whether you'll leave with your belongings, and the people organizing these thefts make money from each rental. For the same price, you can find villas that are further out but much less risky, especially since taxis cost very little. Think carefully. If you still choose this villa, may God protect you.

We suffered a shocking robbery at the house. They got in through the same door used in the recent burglaries, and we found it broken on our first morning. We told the owner, but he didn't fix it or explain what was happening. He spoke badly about the neighbors, even though they were the ones who told us the whole truth. There were too many lies from someone who, if he wants to rent the house, should at least install security measures, get theft insurance or tell us what's going on. The owner is also a national police officer, yet he's doing nothing about the pattern of robberies targeting tenants. Shameful.

Unless this house changes owners, I would NOT recommend it to ANYONE. It's a rip-off. The construction workers and electricians who were there when we arrived weren't at fault, but the floor and whole house were dirty from the work. We had agreed to meet Toni at 4:00 PM, but he arrived at 4:45 PM. We'd told him in advance we'd pay €100 extra to leave Sunday at 8:00 PM instead of 10:00 AM. He said he'd collect the money Saturday afternoon, then didn't show. On Saturday morning he turned up without warning with another professional to fix the pool. We hadn't known about any of the house's problems, since he'd said it was in perfect condition. Then on Sunday at 11:30 AM, he came in without warning and rudely woke us, telling us to get the hell out. We had until 8:00 PM and hadn't even had a chance to get up and clean. He took photos claiming we'd left everything just as we'd found it, but that wasn't true. We cleaned before leaving. He'd said we'd pay for anything broken, at its equivalent value. While barbecuing, the leg of one plastic table broke, and I accept that. I found a replacement at IKEA for €39. He's STOLEN €200 from our deposit, saying the house was left "dirty" and attaching photos from before we left, charging us for the broken €39 table leg, which we accept, and blaming us for litter on the development's private plots. He included a photo of a garbage bag in the woods, taken when he saw us throwing our trash into the bins as he drove us there.

We booked the villa through Locasun for August 20th to 27th and have just got back. Fortunately, Locasun responded quickly. At the meeting point, we collected the keys at 4 PM and paid cash for cleaning and tourist tax. Our signed contract put cleaning at €150, but they asked us for €200. We insisted and showed the signed contract, and they said nothing. Nobody came with us to check the inventory, so we spent two hours doing it ourselves and taking photos. The cleaning hadn't been done. Judging by the bathrooms, I don't think it had been cleaned for a while. We called Locasun, who sent a cleaner, but she was alone and could only do a quick job. The house was filthy, and its condition was catastrophic: a broken bed, broken fridge, dirty walls, a sinking pool and more. It wasn't worth what we paid. We've written to Locasun and hope they can resolve this. As a former travel agent, I can't let it go.
