HOSTELCROSS

The room was large and clean, with pod-style beds and an en-suite. It’s very central, close to the cathedral and the bars tucked into the back streets. Check-in on 18/06/25 was self-service, so we asked at the bar downstairs and the man there called someone to help. The street is really noisy. We were tired, which helped, but I wouldn’t suggest it for older people or families. If you’re young, you can probably manage, and the outside noise means you won’t wake anyone when you return from the bars. I’d stay again with a group, but not while doing the Camino.

The rooms and bathrooms were clean, though there weren’t any amenities. It was one of the few hostels open in the off-season, and the bar staff were helpful with the self check-in. But music from the bar downstairs carried through the hostel all night. Hard to get any sleep.

The sheets and pillowcases were badly worn and need replacing. I was there on a Tuesday night and couldn’t sleep because of music from the bar below. They need to soundproof the place.

The bathrooms were really clean, and the beds were comfortable. The shared areas could have been cleaner, which is why I’m giving four stars. Check-in was a bit of a mess, but the managers at the bar downstairs were very helpful.
