Cubik Rooms

Kübik Hostel is the best one I've ever seen. I liked the privacy the cubicles give you, and they come with towels and a small air conditioner. The kitchen, bathrooms and toilets were spotless and clearly well looked after. I was impressed by how much care has gone into the place. It's cool inside, and the automatic air freshener keeps it smelling nice. The housekeeper is a warm, friendly woman who works with real discipline. I felt valued and safe, and the cubicle doors and locks kept my belongings secure. I also liked the online, automated management system.

I only needed one night in Madrid and thought this would work. Big mistake. The rooms are unbearably hot, and the air conditioning isn't adequate. I was sweating nonstop. I messaged them on WhatsApp and they said they'd send someone to fix it, but nobody ever came to check. If you're thinking about booking a cubicle here, don't.

Don't go in summer. They only provide a little penguin for ventilation and cooling, and it gets so hard to breathe properly in the summer heat. The rest of the facilities are well maintained. Still, every room is overcrowded, so getting proper rest is difficult.

Honestly, I'm surprised nobody's taken legal action. In this extreme heat, the air conditioning is barely working or switched off, and that feels borderline illegal. It's dangerous as well as uncomfortable. If nobody's become ill yet, it seems like only a matter of time.
