Several months after we booked, they told us just three weeks before our arrival that they couldn’t accommodate us and would move us to a sister hotel. That hotel was poorly located, so we had to find somewhere else at short notice and pay much higher rates. It was very inconvenient and cost us a lot of extra money. I also noticed rooms were still being advertised on booking.com for our dates, but at much higher prices. The whole thing seemed very dodgy.

The hotel is extremely clean, with crisp sheets, fresh-smelling towels, and a sanitized toilet. Housekeeping cleans the room every day unless you ask not to be disturbed. It’s a three-star place that deserves a five-star rating for its central location near Gran Via, Puerta del Sol, and Plaza Mayor. You can walk to the Prado museum too. There’s no dining service, so you’ll need to go out for breakfast and other meals, which wasn’t a problem for us. It can get loud at night when revellers and party goers gather in the side streets. A taxi driver may have trouble dropping you at the door because it’s a one-way street, though it is possible. We got out on the parallel street and had a short walk. I’d stay here again if I return to Madrid.

The staff at reception were friendly and available around the clock. They arranged our ride to the airport, and it was easy to contact the hotel on WhatsApp to sort out anything. There’s an elevator and daily cleaning service. Our room came with bottled water, a fridge, a dental kit, towels, soap, and shampoo. The rooms are pretty and clean, and I loved the country themes. The location is perfect for walking to Madrid’s tourist spots. There’s also a metro station right next door and lots of useful shops nearby.

The hotel is right in the city center, and the staff were very nice. But the room left a lot to be desired. I could hear everything from nearby rooms, almost as if it were happening in mine: conversations, running water, footsteps, and things being dropped on the floor above. It cost much less than the other hotels in the area, and now I understand why. I probably wouldn’t stay here again.
