I miss this apartment and Spain! It was spotless, stylish, and in an amazing spot, maybe two blocks from Gran Via. There were two grocery stores on either side and loads of great shops nearby. It also had everything I needed: a washer and dishwasher, AC, vacuum, iron, and more.

Apartment 16 felt designed to make you crack your head on a ceiling beam, like something a jailer from the Holy Inquisition might devise for torture. I can’t see how the city approved the building. The owner, whom I’m glad I never met, always replied in a deeply unsettling way. His WhatsApp messages were politely threatening, Machiavelli would have loved them, and he kept looking for chances to charge extra. I felt ripped off, and they cost me a whole day in Madrid. What a way to experience the city.

The reception service was excellent, thank you, Pedro! The facilities were excellent too, and the location extraordinary, just steps from San Anton Market, metro stations, bus stops, and restaurants.
