The hotel is very well located, close to the metro and within walking distance of lots of sights. We stayed in room #10, which other reviewers have also mentioned. I’d say it’s okay for one person traveling alone, but not for couples or families. The room is extremely small, especially the bathroom, which is uncomfortable and leaks water everywhere. They also don’t change the towels every day. We didn’t see any bugs, so hygiene wasn’t an issue. For this price, the hostel-like feel isn’t worth it to me.

The room had everything I needed, plus little muffins and coffee. The air conditioner was probably the best I had during my three-week European vacation. I stayed in room #4. The place is unassuming from the outside, but there’s plenty of signage to help you find the entrance. You get links for the door codes or phone access once your booking is confirmed. The main door was easy, but I had trouble with the second because its handle was loose. Jiggle it until the keypad lights up and you should be fine.

There’s supposed to be no noise after 22:00, but you can still hear doors slamming, people walking around in heels, and conversations from other rooms.

The Wi-Fi is very patchy, so keep that in mind. And the shower is probably the most confusing one I’ve ever used. It’s like an escape-room puzzle where the prize is warm water and not another clue. You can also hear people on the floor, though everyone else was quiet and we were the ones making noise. People have left pretty negative reviews, but I found the hotel perfectly fine. Our bathroom and bed were large, the bed was clean, there were coffee-making facilities, and the TV was good. The location is excellent, close to both a Dia and a Carrefour Express.

The biggest drawback for me was the Wi-Fi. I needed it for remote work in the evenings, and it was unreliable. Sometimes it worked fine, while other times pages loaded very slowly and calls were difficult, so getting work done efficiently was a struggle. I wouldn’t recommend staying here if you depend heavily on Wi-Fi for work. The hallways also carry a lot of sound, and the shower pressure was mediocre. I spent five nights in room #8 at the Opera Rooms. It’s keyless accommodation with no formal concierge, and you open the doors by phone, so Wi-Fi or cellular data is essential. I was nervous about that at first, but found it convenient and easy to use. They send all the entry instructions ahead of time, so you’re prepared when you arrive. Employees were easy to reach on WhatsApp and replied within minutes. The room was clean and comfortable, and the central location is walkable, close to restaurants, attractions, and the metro. It was also a great price for a private room in central Madrid. A nice, simple place for budget travelers who don’t need a dependable Wi-Fi connection for work.
