SLEEP’N Atocha – B Corp Certified

The rooms were the main drawback for us: shockingly small for two people from North America on a two-week trip with two large suitcases. There was hardly space to move, hang clothes, store toiletries, or sort out our luggage. Having to reserve a breakfast time ahead also made it harder to sleep in or keep the morning flexible. Still, we enjoyed the stay. The hotel’s eco-conscious idea felt modern and different, and we liked the thoughtful touches, including music in the room. Breakfast on the rooftop was one of the cutest settings of our trip, with plenty to choose from, and they offered free coffee and tea in the afternoon. The location was good for Retiro Park and the Prado Museum area, with lots of good restaurants within a 10-15 minute walk. Some central sights and the livelier centre were about a 20-minute walk away.

We stayed two nights and found the room comfortable and a decent size. The hotel is close to the train station, which made getting around easy, and everything was well maintained with a nice atmosphere. There are lockers, plus free coffee, tea, and drinks throughout the day. The lounge behind reception was a warm place to sit, with a projector screen for movie nights. Breakfast had a wide range of options and was included. Great value, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a welcoming, convenient stay in the area.

The lounge was the best part for me. You could read or unwind by the fireplace, with free coffee and tea available all day. Breakfast upstairs had everything I expected, and the city view was a lovely surprise in the morning. The common areas were elegantly decorated, the staff were helpful, and the parking was very close by, which made things easy for the rest of our stay. The hotel is stylish and well situated in Madrid. Our room was clean and stylish too, though small, with the bathroom very close to the bed. For a small hotel in the city centre, I can see why it wouldn’t be easy to make the rooms bigger, and the dimensions were listed on the website.

At more than €200 a night, the room was a dealbreaker. I was shocked when I walked in, and I’ve never slept in a space that cramped. At that price, I expected a basic amount of room and comfort, and this didn’t meet that. The hotel was spotless, very central, and convenient for exploring the city. I was also impressed by its sustainability commitment and B Corp ethos, which felt like a real conviction rather than just a marketing angle.
