The rooms looked fairly clean and were reasonably close to the photos, but the cramped layout and awkward access made the place far less convenient than I expected. Our room was up three or four flights in a building shared by several hotels, and possibly a family. It wasn’t easy to spot from the street, and you had to enter through a common door. People sometimes rushed in behind us to avoid entering the code, which felt uncomfortable in an unfamiliar area. The elevator barely fits one person, and it was having problems during our stay. It even trapped my wife when there was no front desk staff around to help. Inside, the room was very small, had few outlets, and the furniture was crammed in. We couldn’t open the closet because the air conditioner blocked it. The front desk was only staffed part of the time. I felt misled about what this “hotel” actually was. With all of that, it felt like a very overpriced hostel.

The service was top notch, with prompt, helpful replies over WhatsApp and a personal touch. Our room seemed freshly renovated, bright, modern and very clean. The location is right by Sol station and Gran Vía, with most sights an easy walk away. There are plenty of food options and at least three big department stores nearby. Even with all that around, the room was surprisingly quiet. We were very happy we chose this Woohoo.

We were very satisfied with the stay and found the experience excellent. The one difficulty was the elevator, which fits only one person. Our group had to go up and down three floors separately to stay together. We know it’s a historic building and hope the hotel can update the equipment to fix this. Otherwise, I’d highly recommend it.

The scavenger hunt around Madrid was great fun, and I’d stay here again if I return. We had a spacious, clean junior suite, and reception was very helpful. The location is perfect. I loved the place. The elevator is small, but it worked well and wasn’t a big deal. With more than two suitcases, you might need to make a few trips.

Traveling with a baby here was completely impractical. The room was too small to move around comfortably with one checked bag, two carry-ons, a stroller and two backpacks. Our stroller only fit at an angle beside the bathroom door, so people had to turn sideways to get in and out. To make walking space, we had to put the desk chair in the shower. The bed was uncomfortable, the closet hit the AC unit and wouldn’t open fully, and there was just one outlet under the desk. Once we set up the playpen, it blocked the plug. The fridge barely cooled, a real problem if you need to store breast milk or baby food. The access was a mess from the moment we arrived at 2:00 AM. The elevator was too small for a stroller, and the hotel is on the fourth floor of a walk-up. We had to send the luggage and stroller up separately, then have someone walk up to retrieve them. That should have been disclosed. I was also never told a crib had to be requested, even though I mentioned my infant several times. No crib was provided or offered, so we used a playpen that took up even more room. The hotel also says the elevator is historic but doesn’t say it can’t fit a stroller. I felt misled about 24/7 support. Reception actually closes at midnight, and while we were on the way to Madrid I was told this at the last minute. Before that, I’d wasted time trying to complete the “obligatory” online check-in, which never worked on any device or browser. If something goes wrong at 2 AM, no one is available until 8 AM. Their reply says staff can help with outlets, the fridge or check-in, but that doesn’t help when there’s nobody there. At 11:15 AM, reception knocked despite the Do Not Disturb sign. My baby was outside in 43°F (6°C) rain, waiting for warm clothes because the stroller and essentials wouldn’t fit in the elevator. Instead of letting me quickly get what was needed, the woman at reception stuck to a checklist. I said repeatedly, “I need to go to my baby,” but she kept explaining that the room was non-refundable and that this wasn’t actually a hotel, just “rooms.” She even blamed me for the fridge not working, saying I hadn’t regulated it properly. On the way out, she continued the script all the way to the elevator, then reminded me I still had to officially check in and show my passport because I’d legally spent a night there. It wasn’t an argument, just a staff member following a rigid checklist with no awareness of the situation. There was no one to help after midnight, even when we raised issues. Saying there’s round-the-clock service is a lie. The hotel’s response showed the same disconnect between its policies and what guests actually face. This place is misleading and not suitable for families with young children. The tiny rooms, unusable elevator for strollers and lack of front desk support made everything difficult, while staff seemed more focused on the process than on helping. Don’t book here.
