Soho Boutique Equitativa Hotel

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff were wonderful, breakfast was great, and the room was clean. The location was fantastic too. Our room faced a building that was very close, so there wasn’t much of a view and it gave the room a basement-like feel. It didn’t bother us much, though.

We enjoyed our stay, and the service stayed professional throughout. At first, though, the room overlooked a pigeon nest in an abandoned building about 3 meters from the window, despite my request for a view and an earlier room upgrade. After a night there and two trips to reception, they offered an amazing upgrade free of charge. I’d even suggested paying to move. The rooms are all very nice and air conditioned, and breakfast was 4/5. I gave 4 stars because the advertising felt a bit over the top. The pool isn’t heated and was out of use, and the rooftop bar is much smaller than it looks, with ugly plastic screening that blocks the wind and, sadly, the view.

The staff were really friendly, and although there’s no kettle in the room, you can ask at reception. The rooms aren’t huge, but they’re comfortable, clean, and nicely furnished, with a very comfortable bed. From the hotel you get a great view of the main street. You can only see the port from the upper floors.

The showers and beds were good, and I liked the automatic bathroom lights at night. It’s a beautiful building with lovely views, right in the centre and ideally placed for exploring Malaga. For a 4-star hotel, the amenities felt pretty limited. The atmosphere and staff came across as friendly in a rather mechanical way. Arriving by car was confusing too, or maybe I just didn’t understand what I was supposed to do. I’m a bit torn about the place.
