Our room was dirty, and there were lots of cockroaches. Don't stay here!

We got back last Friday after a week here. The apartment was basic but great, and the pools were fantastic. The pool bar staff really made the atmosphere, they were brilliant and nothing was a problem for them. I usually cook, but I had breakfast and lunch there every day and it was gorgeous. I'd definitely come back, if only to see the pool bar staff again. If you're after a fry like home, I'd highly recommend popping in. It was very cheap, and you won't be let down. The restaurant by the pool was the real gem of the hotel. The staff took such good care of us. I'd strongly recommend having breakfast there, since they cook everything fresh to order. Their sangria deserves a mention too, made with real fruit rather than tinned stuff.

We stayed in apartment 203, and the noise was awful. Pubs in the nearby shopping center played extremely loud music from 10 pm until 3 am. The hotel's bar was on the bedroom side too, and there was karaoke quite late many times. This apartment might suit people who don't mind nighttime noise, and maybe the higher apartments would be better. Heliomar has two adults' pools. One was heated, and it really did feel heated. There's also a little minimarket at the hotel. But the location and noise made this a terrible fit for us. We've travelled GC for over 20 years, and this was the worst place. Never again.
