AluaSoul Palma - Adults Only

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the hotel was clean and well maintained. We had excellent food in the buffet restaurant, plus good snacks at the bar, with a different dinner theme each night. Our upgraded room looked out over the sea, and the view changed beautifully with the weather and time of day. We spent Christmas here, our first time being away from home for the holiday. It’s an adults-only hotel in a fairly quiet area, which suited us for a peaceful break. We visited in winter, so I imagine summer has a much busier feel. It’s a lovely base for exploring the island.

We liked the food, the comfortable room, and the location. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially the women on the team. Even with the plane noise people mention, we thought the location was wonderful. You can rent bikes right at the hotel, and the ride towards Palma is amazing. The stay itself was good, though it didn’t have the extras I’d expect from a four-star place. What really soured things was the communication before we arrived. We’d booked the room for one person and later asked to change it to two. The hotel quoted €50 a night to add the second guest, even though the usual difference for one versus two people on Booking.com and the hotel website is €10 a night. They said we could make the change through Booking.com, but then ignored us for days. After several follow-ups, they still wouldn’t accept the request there. My husband called reception and was rudely told we could change it at the hotel for €50. The staff member then abruptly hung up, which felt completely unprofessional. Another staff member eventually cleared things up and changed the reservation. That left a lasting bad impression despite the good parts of our stay. We don’t plan to return. There are plenty of other places in Palma where guests are treated like welcome visitors instead of a nuisance.

We had a great time here, and on my birthday the team surprised us with a “premium clients” table overlooking one of the best sea views, along with champagne and cake, all included. Huge thanks to the manager and staff for that. The restaurant team were attentive and checked that we had what we needed. The food was tasty, with different themed buffets each evening, and we always found a free table no matter when we went. Reception staff were also friendly and ready to help. Rooms were cleaned daily. If you leave towels on the floor, they’ll be changed. Our room had a mini-fridge included in the price, good WiFi, comfortable mattresses, and air conditioning that worked well. The bathroom was modern, with free soap and shampoo. The sea view was amazing, and there was a drying rack on the balcony. The hotel has a modern look, a sea-view bar, and a lounge with a large TV that mostly shows major sports events. One downside is that the rooms aren’t well soundproofed, and the hotel is close to the airport. If you’re a light sleeper hoping to nap during the day, it may not suit you. The car rental they recommended gave us a poor car with several faults. It got us from A to B, but made strange noises and had rims only on the right side. Still, we enjoyed our stay a lot. I recommend it, and hope you have safe travels and a relaxing holiday.

For a stopover or a base for exploring the island, AluaSoul Palma is well placed. The airport, PMI, is about 10 minutes away, and Palma town is a 15-minute drive. Shops and restaurants are within a reasonable walk, with some just a few minutes from the hotel. It’s adults-only, with rates from standard options up to all-inclusive at competitive prices. There’s a pleasant pool by the sea, and premium guests can use the rooftop pool, which has an amazing view. The lobby level has the bar, restaurant, and executive lounge, while a small gym is on the first floor. As an all-inclusive hotel, it also has various activities in and around the property to join at your own pace. The rooms are spacious, with good-sized bathrooms. The suites are particularly impressive, with plenty of room for work or relaxing and a nice balcony.
