Breakfast was buffet style, with a wide choice of hot and cold food, and you could sit indoors or in the courtyard. We found the bed comfortable, and the curtains blocked out all the light at night. Our basic double had an entrance foyer, a large modern bathroom on one side, and an average-sized bedroom on the other. The Born Hotel is an old building with lots of character. There's no lift, and the stairs could be difficult if you have mobility issues. My wife and I are in our early 70's and managed okay. When we arrived, receptionist Santi told us to go to the room and said he'd bring our cases up within 5 minutes. He did. The hotel is on a quiet side street, about 50m from Palma's central district, with lots of restaurants and bars. There was just a little noise from the adjoining bedroom in the morning, nothing that disturbed us. It was the perfect location for our visit to Palma.

Winter seemed to make everything worse, with the hotel so understaffed. I'd read reviews before booking saying that good cheese, ham, and salmon were only available in summer, and it felt like winter guests were treated as if they didn't matter. For such an expensive hotel, this was the worst breakfast I can imagine. There was only cheap ham and cheese, very basic fruit, some of it rotten, and no vegetables at all. Don't book if you want a decent breakfast.

The atmosphere at Hotel Born was cozy and peaceful, and the included breakfast was delicious with a good supply. The staff made us feel at home during our honeymoon in Spain. They never complained about our requests and were quick to help with things like water, however often we asked. Everything about the place was amazing and it was definitely a highlight of our trip.

We stayed for 3 nights in August, and the room was spacious and kept very clean. Breakfast was good quality with a nice range of options, and the staff were friendly and efficient. The location was great for everything, right in the centre of Palma. There was some noise from the courtyard, which was the only slight downside, but it wouldn't stop us coming back.

We stayed here with my husband over Christmas. The service was really impressive, and we liked the breakfast and the interior. Too bad our neighbours were loud.
