HM Palma Blanc Hotel

We had a really good stay. The hotel is good value, the pool is stunning, and breakfast was great. Its location works well for both the old town and Santa Catalina. Most of the staff were lovely, though some people in Palma can come across as blunt, which takes a bit of getting used to. A few things felt less friendly for a four star. The suite for three wasn’t separate rooms as the website seemed to suggest. The road was noisy, so I’d suggest asking for a higher floor. We had our young child with us, and the only swimming times were 9-10 and 7-8pm. Staff were very strict about making us leave when the slot ended. At the start of the stay there’s water and some minibar stock, including one beer and a few soft drinks. After that, bottled water costs 3.50 a bottle.

The front desk staff really made me feel welcome. They took the time to give me personal restaurant suggestions across different prices, from tapas and local food to seafood, sushi, pasta and pizza, and brunch. The service was top quality, and the price was amazing. I wish I’d stayed here instead of switching to a more expensive hotel after five nights. I was here for five nights in December of 2024. The hotel’s art and design are beautiful, and my room was lovely. I was upgraded, though even without that, the rooms seemed much more spacious than I’d expected for such a prime location. The gym is small but had all the basics I needed to feel healthy after an international flight. The sauna and pool were lovely and therapeutic after a long day. I was amazed by the location, rooms, and especially the service. I hope to come back soon!

Reception were friendly, helpful, and welcoming the whole time. We stayed three nights with breakfast included. Our room was clean and bright, and breakfast was good. The spa was very nice too, apart from the cold steam room. Parking at the hotel was convenient at €15 per night.

The car park is clean, large, and seems safe, but getting in and out is a nightmare. The entrance is far too narrow, leaving only centimetres between the hire car and the walls or barrier posts. My BMW X3, which isn’t a large car, nearly got damaged several times, and it was pure luck it didn’t. The scratch marks on the walls and posts make it look like plenty of other cars have been damaged too. Why are there two barriers at the top? A single wide one, and single barriers at the bottom so only one car can use the ramp at a time, seem like a simple fix that would improve the experience a lot. The hotel itself is excellent, modern, very clean, and well located just outside the old town. The facilities are great and breakfast was good. Two surly staff, one at the bar and one at breakfast, let the others down. Please train all staff to the same standard as the positive ones, and don’t accept people with a bad attitude. We might come back if we hear these two main issues have been addressed.
