Hotel Riu Festival

We paid a good price, got early check-in, and had friendly staff. The hotel was clean with a modern style, and the restaurant food was nice. It’s a short walk to the beach. For what we paid, we really can’t complain.

The reception team was very helpful, and Miguel deserves special thanks for understanding our request and sorting it out. Our room was cleaned thoroughly each day, and the food was tasty and nicely presented. The waitresses were attentive and friendly too. With the beach, promenade and sightseeing all conveniently close, we really enjoyed our stay at Riu Festival. Definitely recommend it, 5 stars.

We’d booked and paid for this hotel back in August, but when we arrived, we were told it was overbooked and sent to another hotel. Nobody had warned me or even the agency beforehand. The staff were rude and showed no consideration for the disruption, and there was no compensation. I was just told to take it up with the booking company. I’ve travelled to plenty of places, as my reviews show, and I’ll never book with Riu again. They ruined our holiday and a birthday celebration.

It’s a lovely hotel and most of the staff are lovely too. Avoid Situ on the desk dinner, though. He was rude and homophobic. When we complained, management weren’t much help and suggested he might have been ‘having bad day’.
