We had a balcony room that was very large and impeccably clean, and the location was excellent. The service was awesome too. Paula at reception was attentive, kind, and helpful. We had a perfect two-day stay. I honestly don't understand the negative comments.

The cafe next door had very friendly people and good service. I can't say the same for the hotel or hostel staff. The rooms were clean and the price was cheap, but there was no control for the air conditioning, and getting any extra service seemed unlikely. They could easily put in more effort. I own a 4-star hotel in England, and to me it's all about service.

There are probably much better places to stay. The air conditioner was a disaster and didn't cool at all, and the staff weren't friendly, especially the women in the restaurant. It's a pity that the staff seemed to be in such an angry mood.

The hostel next door has been the best place I've found to stay in town, and I think it'll be in at least your top five, even if you include rooms costing ten times more. I've stayed here for three days, a few weeks ago, and came back to book another three days after spending a few days elsewhere. Both times I had trouble paying, and both times they told me not to worry, handed me a key, and said the clean room was ready so I could rest. That kind of customer service is the best I've seen in a long time, both in the States and since coming to Spain. I decided to sort out the payment before resting on the second stay, since I hadn't been walking the Camino and was taking a break in town. There are lots of places within walking distance for mountain views, museums, beautiful public spots, and so many cherry blossom trees. For me, this city has the best balance of suburban and city life.
