PLEA Beach House

I came looking for a place where I could surf, unwind, and have a beer without it turning into a party hostel for younger guests. That’s what I found: like-minded people, some amazing new friends, and a really fun Tuesday event. The skate bowl was a cool extra too. The beds are roomy and give you privacy, the rooms are clean, and the staff were warm and welcoming. A hammock or sunbed in the garden would make it even nicer for reading or relaxing after surfing. A few more rubbish bins would help as well, since sometimes the bathroom was the only nearby place to throw something away.

We had a fantastic time and I’d absolutely come back. Maria at the front desk was incredibly friendly and helpful from day one, even helping us work out our cruise to Santander. I don’t think I’ve had hostel service this good before. The hostel has great facilities, towels and breakfast were included, and breakfast had lots of choices.

One thing to know is that there’s no kitchen for making your own meals. Still, it’s a perfect hostel to me: very clean, with good sleeping cabins and a breakfast that has everything you could want. The desk staff are kind, and the ocean, restaurants, and a small supermarket are all about a five-minute walk away.

After walking 47km on the Camino Del Norte, I arrived at Plea Beach House and Laura welcomed me. She explained everything clearly and was happy to help with any questions. The place was fresh, tidy, and clean, and the bed was comfortable. The food was delicious, and there was great live music. I’d highly recommend staying here, and I’ll come back to surf. Carlos deserves a special thank you for going above and beyond to help me with my lost wallet. I’m extremely grateful and will remember him from my Camino and this stay. He’s a real credit to the team and Plea Beach House. I’d give more than five stars if I could; the staff and venue were nothing short of perfect.
