I could get in late at night by using a code to pick up the key, and the room had all the facilities I needed. Its location between the bus and train stations was very handy. I’d planned to leave my luggage there, but storage was only available until 14:00 while staff were present. If you need somewhere after that, there are lockers at the bus station for 4 euro a day.

Tea and coffee facilities, a TV, and towels were all provided. The rooms had a lovely finish and were so clean. A fabulous hostel, one of the best I’ve stayed in.

Right in downtown Santander beside the bus terminal, with plenty of restaurants, coffee shops, and bars nearby, the location was excellent. Hostal Cabo Mayor was quiet, and my room was very clean with a comfortable bed and a modern shower in the bathroom. The staff were friendly too. I had a really nice stay and would come back.

The rooms themselves are decent, even modern, and the service was okay. But the building in downtown Santander is shabby, and the exhaust fumes were choking. Opening the window only let in more of that smell. The online listing says check-in is at 12 AM, but it’s actually 3.00 pm, so don’t trust the first picture or that time.

Getting around was easy from the city-center location, within walking distance of the train and coach stations and the beautiful bay. The rooms were clean and very comfortable, and the staff were amazing. They went out of their way to make my stay comfortable. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Santander.
