After what we'd been staying in along the trail, this place felt like a real upgrade: two comfortable beds, a great bathroom, air-conditioning, and even a restaurant downstairs that's open to the public. Check-in is online and you get a code to enter, but the guys at the restaurant answered my questions. My room also looks straight toward the cathedral's steeple, and it's incredibly close. I've got one more night here, and so far it's been great.

The owner or manager was really sweet. I was cold and exhausted and didn't have the energy to find an albergue, so this was a comfortable place to stay closer in. It's pretty expensive, but that seems normal for this part of the city. One thing to watch for: water can leak out of the shower even when the doors are shut, so be careful, especially if your mobility is limited.

The location was good, and sleep matters less to me now than it did on the Camino, but for what I paid, I have a lot of complaints. The A/C didn't work, not even its fan. In October, the only way to cool the room was to open the terrace doors, which let in constant noise. With the doors closed, the TV volume was capped at 16 and barely audible; with them open, you couldn't hear it at all. The room also had too many stray pubic and beard hairs. And the vent slats had a thick coating of dust, which was especially ironic with the A/C out of order.

We were able to leave our bags before check-in, and the location was right in the center. The room was clean and the shower was lovely. We did hear some nighttime noise from people celebrating the end of their Camino, but that's understandable in such a central spot.

After the Camino, the room felt like a welcome bit of luxury, even though its style was elegantly simple. You're right in the old town, with plenty of shops and restaurants in every direction, and close to the Cathedral and Correros.
