San Miguel Santiago

A lovely way to finish our Camino. The beds were among the most comfortable we had along the route, and breakfast was well presented with a good selection. There were newspapers and magazines to read, too. Our room’s window looked out over the historic city center. The hotel sits in a quieter corner of Santiago de Compostella’s historic center, close to lively food and drink spots and charming gift shops.

We stayed here at the end of the Camiño and loved it. The cathedral is only a couple of minutes away on foot, and you can walk to everything in Santiago. The area felt clean and safe, and the staff were attentive and helpful. Breakfast was delicious, with fresh coffee, cheeses, local hams, yogurt, Tarta de Santiago, and more. It deserves 10 stars, though I can only give five!

We spent two days here resting after 42 days hiking the Camino de Santiago from France. The service was outstanding, and the location made it easy to enjoy the sights around the Cathedral de Santiago. It was a great chance to recover before carrying on to the ocean.

The location is hard to beat, with the main sights nearby and plenty of restaurants and shops just around the corner. We stayed two nights in late May. The hotel itself is a nice 3 star, but cleaning could have been more thorough: there was a lot of black hair in our room. Breakfast was the part we liked least. As early risers, we found the 8:30 start late, and the food was limited to pastries, ham, cheese, a little yogurt, and hot drinks. No vegetables or eggs.
