Fatima and the team were so kind when I left my earpods in the room. I called, and they found them, packed them up and sent them to my hotel in Santiago, where they were waiting at reception. The hotel was quiet and spotless, and they have a kettle and tea downstairs for guests to use. Breakfast was nice too.

The town itself is lovely, with bars and restaurants along the riverbank. My room had air conditioning, and the receptionist was really nice and went out of their way to share local tips because I was a tourist.

There are several options at the buffet breakfast, including soy milk, and the reception staff were helpful. My room was very clean, comfortable and convenient, with shampoo, body wash and hand soap provided. I also liked being able to switch off the lights from the bedside. The hot water had good pressure. The location is hard to beat, within walking distance of everything and just steps from the stairs to the camino. The downside was the large tourist groups staying there, which meant noise and limited breakfast times.

I left my glasses at the hotel, and Ms Fátima went to great lengths to send them to Santiago de Compostela so I could get them back. I'm very grateful for her help. The staff were incredible, and I strongly recommend this hotel.

Before I set off for Portomarín, I had a lovely night's sleep and a delicious breakfast. I was really impressed with Fatima's customer service. I'd mixed up my travel dates at check-in, but she worked with my tour company and reassured me it would all be sorted. Her calm manner settled my nerves, and my dates were revised for the rest of the trip. I'd definitely recommend Hotel Duerming to fellow pilgrims on the Camino.
