We hit a capacity problem in Portomarín, but they found us a room at the last minute. The rooms were simple, very clean, and quiet, right off the Camino. Great value if all you need is a bed and your own shower.

The bathroom smelled awful, and there’s no kitchen, so you have to go out for meals. Also, the other guests were all elderly, which felt pretty strange at times, almost like being in a retirement home. Maybe I didn’t have the best experience, but the place is very clean and still worth considering as you pass through town. The common room is beautiful, €12 for a bed seems very fair, the shower had reliable hot water after a long day walking, and the Wi-Fi was among the best I’ve had, handy for planning the next day.

The owner was very welcoming and kind, and took the time to explain the whole trip to us. The amenities weren’t the best, and there was no fridge or microwave for bringing your own food.

The owners and managers were nice, and the place was clean, quiet, and not too crowded. Coffee was great, freshly ground and hot. The bathrooms are small but decent, and there’s free Wi-Fi, a fridge, laundry, and a cafe. It’s a good price and not far from either the Camino or Casco Viejo.
