The staff were excellent, always kind, welcoming and helpful, and the stay was memorable. The building has lovely character and beautiful décor. Its historic design does mean the sound insulation isn’t ideal, and now and then we could hear people walking or talking at night, though it wasn’t a major issue for us. The location is excellent, within walking distance of many of Seville’s main landmarks. I’d gladly recommend it.

The hotel sits on the edge of the Jewish quarter, with the Cathedral a 5-10 minute stroll away and tapas restaurants directly opposite. It’s a very unusual, unique place, with historic rooms and modern facilities. The connecting tunnel felt like something from James Bond, and then came an awesome breakfast. We visited in February. My only concern is the same one I have for Seville generally: peak season, maybe April to June, must be far too crowded.

We spent our June afternoons around the rooftop pool because it was so hot. On the first day there wasn’t a sunbed for us, but a towel at the side of the pool did the job. The pool is small, which made those afternoons quiet and relaxing, and the pool bar serves cocktails throughout the day. We recommend the Juderia cocktail. Nearby, there are lots of great bars, including Las Teresas, just five minutes away. This was our first trip to Seville and we couldn’t have picked a better hotel. Staff were efficient, helpful and incredibly friendly from the moment we arrived. The building felt historic, traditional and unique, a maze of rooms, courtyards, alleys and hallways, with Spanish tiles throughout. You might get lost the first time! Five stars doesn’t feel like enough. We’d decided just a day into the holiday that we’d come back. Thank you.

Our first morning, ants were in the bed, on our skin and all over the closet. We reported it right away and were told housekeeping would be informed. If the hotel has this kind of problem, surely it needs an exterminator. The ants never really went away during our week there, and there were also a few cockroaches by bathroom drains or slipping into small holes in the wall. We couldn’t change rooms because none were available. We had the sheets changed daily and deliberately stayed out of the room all day. The property is beautiful, but the online pictures make it look like a bright, spotless boutique retreat. More should be done to seal cracks and holes or spray for bugs. We’ve stayed in three-star places in Seville that felt cleaner and less stressful than this four-star hotel. I’d suggest somewhere else for a longer visit. The pool looked different from the online photos too. For a short stay, though, the location is great and the piano bar was fun.

A beautiful hotel with old architecture mixed with modern touches, and lots of little hidden gems inside. It’s central, close to most attractions and within walking distance of everything we wanted to see in Seville. The many buildings that make up the hotel can make it a little confusing at first, but once you get used to finding your way, it becomes a fun adventure. In the rooms, you can hear everyone outside, though it wasn’t a serious problem for us.
