Casona de San Andres

Daniel at reception gave us detailed, really helpful information about Seville, and I especially want to thank him. All the staff were kind and friendly. We stayed six nights, and the hotel was extremely clean and perfectly located. There was coffee for guests at the entrance, as well as coffee machines in the rooms. It’s definitely a boutique hotel I’d stay at again if I return to the city.

The rooms are average, fine for sleeping but not really somewhere to relax, and you can hear everything happening in the hotel. The hotel doesn’t have a restaurant, though there are lots of good ones nearby. Staff are welcoming and friendly, and they have a map showing things to do in the city, so ask them for recommendations. The location is very good for walking wherever you want, and the city is lively enough that the walks don’t feel difficult.

The receptionist helped by explaining that my room type has no window to the outside, just one onto the corridor, which felt oppressive. There was also a spray, probably used to deal with bad odours, but it was so strong that it gave me a headache. With no outside window, there was no way to get fresh air in. She said she wouldn’t use the spray the next day, but that didn’t solve my problem that day. Later, I went back to ask about cancelling the room, and the receptionist gave me a different room without the spray.

Friendly staff, a clean room, and a nice location. A few things could be better: the wall-mounted A/C dripped onto the floor, the lighting could be warmer, the toiletries could be improved, and the safe wouldn’t lock.
