Halo Boutique Hotel

We had trouble with the shower in Rm 207. It leaked across the bathroom floor, so keep that in mind if you stay there. Otherwise, the room was great. The staff were extremely welcoming and accommodating, and the location was first class, right in the heart of the Santa Cruz district. There's lovely old Spanish flair and a beautiful courtyard just outside the entrance. If you go, have breakfast at the courtyard restaurant right around the corner to your left as you exit. You have to roll your bags over cobblestones for a short stretch because taxis can't use the pedestrian-only street. Being in town can mean some noise, though the wooden shutters helped. Joaquin at the front desk was very friendly, gave useful recommendations, and helped with our bags when we left. The location in Seville's old Jewish section is fantastic, with the main attractions a short walk away. Our junior suite gave us extra room, a large bathroom, charming decor, and a comfortable king-sized bed, which is rare to find.

The location was the best thing about our stay, and the spacious rooms and friendly staff were nice too. The pool area is small but pleasant for a few hours in the sun, though the water was freezing. There was also a great shower, except it leaked onto the bathroom floor. A few things were frustrating. Expedia said breakfast was included, but the hotel doesn't serve food at all. We often had to ask for tea and milk because there weren't many sachets left in the room. Overnight, chargers for phones and other devices lost power when the lights were off, and came back on with the lights. A ceiling light flashed all night too. The hotel was advertised as having a rooftop bar, but there wasn't one. With all that, calling it a 4Star feels like a stretch.

This small hotel is quiet and in a superb location, with staff who are very friendly and helpful. The rooftop pool is handy for cooling off, but there are only 4 sun loungers, so getting one is pot luck. For all 5 days of our stay, there was a strange smell like sewage or urine in the public areas. It wasn't in the room, so it wasn't a major problem, but it was off-putting. Also, you'll need to walk about 300m with your luggage along narrow streets to reach the hotel, since taxis can't fit down them.
