Hommyhome Arenal Luxury

There was a strong sewage smell across the ground floor from the first day. It made it hard to sleep or sit comfortably downstairs, and a family member with asthma found resting especially uncomfortable. We reported it several times. The team acknowledged it, even writing “we believe you,” but it was never fixed. Maintenance said they had unclogged something and cleaning staff also came, yet the odor stayed. We lost sleep, couldn’t use the downstairs, and had to spend time dealing with maintenance visits. I also found mold in the washing machine, and the stair railings were broken, which felt unsafe. Later the company blamed “city plumbing,” then after we left denied there had been a smell or offered any compensation. They had earlier acknowledged it in writing, so the backtracking and dismissal felt unacceptable. They also claimed it didn’t affect our enjoyment or use of the property, which was far from true. We paid a high price expecting a comfortable, hassle-free stay and professionalism from David Hommyhome, given its “Superhost” Airbnb status. Instead the service was very poor, with gaslighting and no willingness to take responsibility for the property’s problems. I’ll take this further with Airbnb and strongly suggest future guests read reviews carefully before booking an apartment with David HommyHome. They should NOT be a superhost.
