La Flamenka Hostel

It feels like visiting your grandmother's home, with comfortable, cozy rooms and pleasant facilities. The terraces are lovely to spend time on whenever you like. The location is excellent, the service is excellent too, and the price is more than fair. Definitely a place I'd come back to.

Bathrooms were far away, toilets were dirty, and the floors stayed wet. The rooms were so cramped you could barely walk. We also had no private bathroom or privacy, so I wouldn't recommend it for families. A couple next door were so loud at 5 am that we couldn't sleep. I stayed here in March 2026 and was really disappointed by the cleanliness. There was dust and dirt all over the floor, and the bedsheets were dirty. I picked this place because of its good reviews, but now I think those reviews are fake. Bad experience.

My bed was dirty and in the middle of the room with no privacy. When I asked whether I could switch beds or rooms, they were able to accommodate me with a bunk in the same room, which was good. But the top bunk moved every time I turned over all night. It was right against a wall with a shelf and wasn't secured to anything. I got there around 10 pm. The location is great, but in a large multistory building with no signs or markings to show where the hostel is. The door was locked, the doorman had left at 9, and nobody answered when I buzzed. I'm visiting from abroad and only had data, no phone service. Luckily, I found their WhatsApp number and called through that, and she let me in. It was a minor hassle, but guests should be given the door code after paying for their nights. The hostel's great ratings on HostelWorld had led me to expect something nice, so I was surprised by its condition. Maybe some hostels are just like this. I've only stayed at three others, but they were much nicer: two in Peru that were absolutely phenomenal, and one in Berlin that was very clean. Take my view with a grain of salt.

The place has a cozy, pleasant feel that reminded me of my grandma's home, and most attractions are within walking distance. The staff were friendly and helpful. I arrived before check-in, and the woman at reception showed me where I could leave my bag and gave me a quick tour. The kitchen had the tableware and cooking utensils we needed, along with a microwave and fridge for storing food. There was also a washing machine, and laundry was affordable.
