We were willing to pay a damage deposit by card or in cash, as long as it was returned if there was no damage. But this property’s policy is to refund it by bank transfer, and I still haven’t had an answer about how that would work with a Canadian account. Although we booked through Booking.com and had given our card details, they cancelled my sister’s booking less than ten days before our stay because they wanted “more” banking information. Booking.com advised us not to share it because of many similar fraud cases, and we’d had this happen to us on another occasion. The residence also ignored our questions through Booking.com’s message center about whether the request was legitimate. I eventually reached them on WhatsApp, but they were rude and unhelpful. There were too many problems with this property, so I’d say buyer beware.

We were much better off after they moved us to the third floor, but there were still problems: the intercom didn’t work in either apartment, they gave us only one set of keys, so we had to toss them down from the balcony to get the door opened, and the air conditioning was out in one bedroom. The first apartment was on the ground floor and spread over two levels. There was a dead cockroach in a corner downstairs, with damp behind the sofas, under the stairs, and in the bedroom. The smell in that room was so strong we couldn’t sleep there. Upstairs seemed fine until the next morning, when I found a cockroach in the bed where I’d slept with my three-year-old son. I asked for an immediate apartment change. For the price, there are much better choices, especially if you don’t want to find cockroaches in the house. We had no comfort at all.

It was clean and had everything we needed to enjoy Seville. The apartment is in a central area that’s handy for visiting the city. We’ll be back!
