When we arrived, the room had extreme humidity and a strong damp and mold smell, along with a persistent sewage odor from the bathroom. It was uncomfortable and difficult to stay in. We kept the window open and ventilation running for about 2 hours to check whether it would clear, but whenever we closed the window, the sewage smell came straight back. I reported the problem promptly to reception and asked to change rooms. Staff said there were no alternatives and refused to move us. After I complained to booking.com, where I had reserved, a receptionist came to the room. Rather than handle it professionally, the staff member acted aggressively and disrespectfully, walked around smelling the air, and accused us of lying about the odor. This was extremely uncomfortable, especially since we were 3 women traveling alone. The attitude was dismissive and inappropriate. With the hotel refusing to acknowledge the problem or offer a solution, we had no safe or reasonable option but to leave immediately. I’m also concerned about the way the hotel’s quality is represented. It’s listed as a 3 star hotel on Booking.com, but when I checked outside sources such as Google, it had around a 1 star rating. Many reviews describe the same issues we experienced, including strong sewage smells, humidity problems, and poor staff behavior.

The reception was welcoming and attentive, and our room was neat and clean. It’s good value for money, with the main attractions, bars, and restaurants all within walking distance. For parking, SABA Plaza de ARMAS public parking is a 3 minutes walk away. We parked there and paid at the hotel. Reception explained the parking procedure clearly, and it worked perfectly for us.

They skimp a little on extras, like the coffee pods for the morning, but otherwise this was an extremely nice place to stay. The service was great, and the staff were very helpful. I highly recommend it.

The Moorish interiors are beautiful, and the hotel is in an excellent location. My room was basic but comfortable. The main problems were in the bathroom: the shower uses one knob for both pressure and temperature, so hot water only comes at high force, and I couldn’t get hot water from the faucet at all. Otherwise, it was a pleasant stay.
