Victor and Maria Oliva, the husband-and-wife team who run the hostel, live just upstairs and gave us especially good service. My wife and I travelled to Toledo with good friends. I was initially unsure about staying in a two-star hostel instead of our usual four-plus-star accommodation, but the very clean rooms and the location won me over. The old city is only a few blocks away, and transport is close by. We loved it and would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in Toledo.

The one downside was the parking, which is a fair distance away in a gravel lot. Apart from that, we had a great experience at this nice hotel, and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Parking is the reason for my four stars instead of five. The hostel has none, and the paid spaces on the main street mean watching the meter so you don't get a ticket. Free parking is possible across the park, then it's a 5-8 minute walk to an area lots of people use. The place itself is small, simple, comfortable and very clean, with friendly, attentive staff. Its central spot is handy for the Alfonso VI Gate, other sights, cafes, restaurants and supermarkets. My room was small but comfortable, and the price was very good for a weekend when I only needed somewhere to sleep.
