We found their process worrying when we booked through booking.com. The deposit requirement wasn't mentioned there, but they contacted us through WhatsApp, not Booking's chat, usually just one or two hours before deadlines they'd set themselves. They asked us to complete another check-in through a separate link and pay the deposit through a link they sent. Their messages sometimes arrived after 10 PM or only a couple of hours before the deadline. It all made us suspicious, but we went along with the requests. A couple of hours before our flight, our one-year-old daughter developed a very high fever, so we had to cancel the trip. We explained what had happened, offered to send medical documents, and asked if we could reschedule rather than get a refund. Days later they replied bluntly that they didn't care and would keep our money. To the owner: what goes around comes around, my friend. Karma eventually comes back.

Communication was poor, and the host took a long time to answer messages. Just one day before check-in, they demanded a deposit and said we'd lose our stay if we didn't pay. Putting that kind of pressure on guests the day before arrival isn't acceptable. We paid, and about five hours later our one-year-old developed a high fever, so we couldn't travel. We didn't ask for our money back. Given the health situation, we asked to move the booking, but several days passed before they said no and that they'd keep the payment. Wizz Air gave us a voucher, and the car rental company refunded us. This came down to basic kindness and understanding, which the host clearly didn't show.

They said the €150 deposit, paid through a suspicious online link, was needed to get the access codes. I believe the real aim was to use my card for fraudulent purchases. Transactions appeared on my card, and it was hacked afterward. Avoid this place. The room is nothing.

The apartment was lovely, clean, new, and well looked after, with all the amenities we needed. It's in a quiet, newer area near the Oceanographic Museum, not far from the city center and just steps from the bus stop. Service was impeccable. Highly recommended.

There wasn't even a basic sponge for washing a couple of dishes. Is it really that hard to provide the bare essentials? I bet they pay a lot for it.
