One Shot Puerta Ruzafa

The hotel staff were helpful overall, though the cleaning staff were a bit too enthusiastic and caused several small disturbances by using the door sign until I told them we didn’t need service. Our room itself was comfortable and had everything we needed, with an artistic design and good beds. The closed windows blocked outside noise well. We’d been moved here from another One Shot hotel because of a maintenance problem, but this place didn’t have the atmosphere we wanted. It felt like a busy city hotel, and one morning we woke to jackhammers on the sidewalk. I wish the company had offered something for the extra distance and last-minute inconvenience, like an upgrade, breakfast, or a metro card, since we couldn’t find a comparable option in time. They did kindly say we could use the pool at the other hotel, but that wasn’t practical.

The hotel put us in exactly the room we’d asked for, and the view was lovely. We also appreciated the thoughtful balloons they left in our room for my wife’s birthday. The location puts you right in the center as soon as you step outside, and even on a busy street we slept perfectly because the soundproofing is so good. Our room was spacious, with comfortable mattresses and pillows and room to relax. The design is beautiful and carefully thought through, right down to useful shower shelves for toiletries and hooks for towels. The only little thing I missed was a towel warmer, since a warm, dry towel is nicer than a damp one. We had a great stay and would definitely come back.

Gustavo had some great restaurant suggestions, and Jeremy at the front desk was particularly committed to helping guests. The hotel is new and nicely decorated, and all the attractions are about a 5-15 minute walk away. I thoroughly enjoyed staying here.

The rooftop is a lovely spot with great city views, but it belongs to the restaurant rather than the hotel. You can only get up there while the restaurant is open, and they were quite grumpy about guests bringing their own food. It’s best not to count it as a hotel amenity, which is a shame given how nice the space is. The hotel itself is gorgeous, with decor that could have gone wrong but feels interesting and elegant here. It’s in a great central spot, steps from a metro station, with lots of food and drink nearby and easy access to the main sights. The front desk staff were consistently friendly and helpful.
