The host was right on top of things. A storm knocked out the power once, and he had it sorted in five minutes. I stayed for a month and had good facilities throughout: a comfortable bed, a well-equipped kitchen with pots, pans, a toaster, microwave and coffee machine. The shower had great pressure, and the lovely shared patio has a barbecue.

The interior at Casa Leonor feels more like an old castle than a hotel, and everyone there is so friendly that we became good friends with people during our stay. A wonderful example of hospitality at its best. If you want to get to know the real Vejer de la Frontera, this is a great place to start.

We found the price reasonable, and the spot is lovely, high up in the Jewish Quarter with plenty of places nearby for a drink or tapas. The room was pleasant and roomy, and the shared outdoor patio is large enough. Getting there with luggage was a real ordeal: cars can't reach the place, and the walk up from the nearest parking lot is all uphill. You collect the keys yourself from a lockbox. We had to call because they’d apparently forgotten the towels and shower gel, but those were brought to us.
