Eurostars Mar de Vigo

At most, I'd call this a 3-star hotel. The room was clean and had a mini bar, but breakfast offered little variety and hardly any vegetables. There was no tea or coffee in the room, and no slippers either. Service was poor: I requested an iron, but it never showed up during my stay. The gym was also disappointing, just a cramped, poorly ventilated room with a few cardio machines, some not working, and no free weights.

We spent five nights here and had a very nice stay, with lots to do nearby. The hotel was spotless, and both the receptionist and cleaning staff were friendly. There are plenty of places to eat within walking distance. The hotel has designated parking in an underground public garage, with a lift straight to reception, for €13 per night. There was no tea or coffee setup in the room, but we had brought our own. The port activity and traffic make it noisy, though that's part of being in the city. We walked to the beaches, crossing the large port area before reaching the surrounding nature and coastal path. You can also drive there in 15-20 mins, and beachfront parking is Free 👍

The rooms were nice, and the hotel has a restaurant, though there aren't many other places nearby. You'll need to walk about 500 meters for food if you don't eat there. On the Camino, this place worked well for us. Check-in reception wasn't very helpful, but when we returned later, the person was much more helpful, so maybe I just caught them at a bad time. One thing to know before booking: the bathroom has glass facing the beds. If you're with friends, you need to lower the shades, or you'll be able to see each other showering 😀.

The breakfast had lovely views and was nice, though expensive. The hotel itself felt dated and mostly clean, a bit uninspired for such a beautiful town. We came with our family on a Sunday afternoon in mid-June, expecting an ocean-side stay, but there were very few nearby places to eat, and the hotel services were limited. There wasn't coffee in the room, and our small mini bar had an empty KitKat wrapper inside. It also felt quite far from tourist-friendly dining. Unless you're here for a convention Monday through Thursday, I'd suggest staying nearer the old-town city center for a holiday.
