We stayed in a wooden chalet with its own sauna, which was great, though the bed felt a little small. During a week over New Year's Eve at Saija, we did the husky week: an introduction to the dogs, a day trip, and an overnight trip to a nice wilderness cabin. It was around -30 degrees, but the supplied gear kept us warm. Marie was welcoming and inclusive, and taught us how to handle the Huskys. We enjoyed most of the traditional Finnish food and the service in general. A fantastic experience.

March was still around -5°C in the daytime, though it didn't feel that cold. The scenery was beautiful, with plenty of room to wander, and the chance of seeing aurora at night kept us excited and awake. We also enjoyed the smoke sauna and the big kota. The food was authentic and really good. One evening we arrived too late for dinner, but they still brought us full trays of a delicious meal. Our apartment had lots of space and a sauna, and was very comfortable. It would help to have a way to keep the two single beds from sliding apart. My wife and I had the most relaxing, enjoyable vacation we've ever had. Saija Lodge gave us everything we needed and more, and we'd gladly recommend it.

The team were so kind and helpful, and the guides know loads about nature. An excursion with them is a great way to get the most out of your stay. I loved how cozy and fully equipped the apartments were, and being right by the lake made paddling during the day or taking a midnight swim easy. I loved staying at Saija!

The food was really good, and there are lots of fun activities, like snowmobiling and Husky sledding. The service is awesome, and the guides are great. They'll do everything they can to make your stay and experience perfect. Great place.

A peaceful place with great food, service, and surroundings. We tried a husky safari on the frozen lake too, and it was amazing. The rooms are great, and each one has a sauna.
