Yadua Bay Resort & Villas

The surf view was the one real plus 🤩. Getting to the beach meant taking a bumpy road, which was especially unpleasant in the rain. Check-in took a while because reception staff were juggling check-ins and escorting each guest to their room. We had to ask for extra towels because there weren’t enough in the room. There were flies and a roach in there as well. At breakfast, some menu items were missing, and the restaurant was hot and stuffy. Service overall wasn’t great. Please do better 🙏

The Fijian woman at reception was very helpful, and the bar staff were lovely, but I found this resort really misleading. It’s much more like a roadside motel than a hotel, let alone a resort. My room smelled awful. There were no blankets, only sheets, no ironing board, and the kettle was old and smelly. The cups and spoons were filthy, and there were bed bugs. This didn’t feel family-friendly, and I definitely wouldn’t recommend it. It wasn’t worth the price, which should be half what it was. It’s not a three-star place, it’s one star at best. The road there was a mission, in really poor condition. I’m never coming back.

The staff were incredible and helpful, and the kind security guard looked out for us. They made the stay worthwhile, even though the hotel was rundown and completely vacant. The owners of Yadua Bay "Resort" need to invest in the property. The walls need paint, and all the curtains were broken. The "kitchen" had a partly working cooktop with one sputtering burner, a terrible knife and a chopping block used for years, with deep gouges that made it impossible to clean and totally unsanitary. The front door lock worked only about half the time, so we had to use the sliding door, which was also very hard to open and lock. We were grateful the security guard kept an eye out, since the room wasn’t secure. The bathrooms were covered in wasp nests, and roaches came out of the drains. The pool was in sad repair, with about half the tiles missing, broken seats and badly torn cushions, so only a few were usable. We don’t regret the experience because of the wonderful staff, but letting the place fall into disrepair while keeping outdated, inaccurate photos is misleading.

The view was good, but the road was rough and I didn’t feel welcome. Staff were okay, though they didn’t seem well trained. After checkout, they tried to charge me for a missing towel, until I went back to the room and counted again. Food was okay. Honestly, there are better places with friendlier staff.
